Are you up for it?

My question to you who might read this blogg, are you up for a challenge? A big challenge!

The challenge is...

Not to do any shopping for 6 months. No clothes, no take-away coffee, no make-up, no restaurant visit unless someone else pay, no shoes, no magazines or newspapers unless they are free (like Metro). No airline tickets or hotel stays. No books.

Are you up for it!?!

The things you can buy are food and necessary things to get clean, such as shampoo, deo, soap or shower gel and laundry powder. And petrol for your car to go to work and back. The best thing would be if you could take the bus or train to work or maybe walk or ride your bike when needed.

Are you still up for it?

I know it's a big deal to us who lives in the western countries but things need to change. And maybe this could be a starting point. To realise we buy so many unnessesary things.

I stared to think about this after reading in a newspaper about a woman who, along with her family, stopped shopping for an entire year. Before this year their weekend fun would be to go shopping instead of going to the park with their kids. Doing free things. The only thing she said was she wish she would've planed better. Bought more socks and panties.

What do you think?

My favorite song

City of Blinding Lights by U2

The more you see the less you know
The less you find out as you go
I knew much more then than I do now

Neon heart dayglo eyes
A city lit by fireflies
They're advertising in the skies
For people like us

And I miss you when you're not around
I'm getting ready to leave the ground....

Ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh

Oh you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights

Don't look before you laugh
Look ugly in a photograph
Flash bulbs purple irises
The camera can't see

I've seen you walk unafraid
I've seen you in the clothes you made
Can you see the beauty inside of me?
What happened to the beauty I had inside of me?

And I miss you when you're not around
I'm getting ready to leave the ground

Ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh

Oh you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights

Time... time
Won't leave me as I am
But time won't take the boy out of this man

Oh you look so beautiful tonight
Oh you look so beautiful tonight
Oh you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights

The more you know the less you feel
Some pray for others steal
Blessings are not just for the ones who kneel... luckily

This song means a lot to me. I used to listen to it all the time when I visited Melody in Australia. Esp. riding on the train going to central Sydney, coming onto Harbour Bridge, looking over the Opera House. I miss my time there so much esp. Mel and Nat. Wish I could see you soon.

Cat food

I just gave my sweet cat some tuna for the first time and she absolutely loved it! She is normally not a big eater but she ate a lot for the tiny cat she is. I think I will continue to give her fish once in a while. I also got a haddock head from the fish store that I've boiled and taken all the meat off. I know this sounds disgusting but after talking to some people I've decided to give it a try with actual food for my cat. She will continue to get Royal Canin but fish too. If she likes it.

New car

Little over a month ago I decided to buy a new car, or new to me that is, since a brand new car is a little too much for my budget. My old car was a Golf Manhattan from 1989 and it's falling apart.
I've had the new car for a few weeks and it's a Audi A4 1,8 from 1998. To me it's a dream, I've always wanted a Audi and now I've got one. In my old car I didn't have a radio, no AC and no heat in the front seats, not working anyway. The photo dosen't show my car
but it looks like it. Same model and colour.

Stevie Wonder

A friend and I just booked tickets for Stevie Wonders concert in Stockholm on September 19th. We haven't even asked if we can take time off. But I'm sure it won't be a problem, or so I hope! Ha
